Project Description

A large construction involving 7000m² of premium office space over four floors, set above retail and hospitality space on the ground floor.

Project Goals

One of a number of design-build developments in the Victoria Street precinct of Christchurch. These projects were required to meet new seismic design requirements with a cost-effective solution. Aesthetics were also critical, as the buildings form part of the CBD rebuild.

Construction undertaken in 2015.

Project Features

  • Additional challenges of undertaking construction on a highly visible site on a major road.
  • Effective traffic and pedestrian management required.
  • Piling, draining, foundation and ground floor concrete work completed.
  • Ground water encountered 600-800mm below ground resulted in extensive de-watering works as well as stabilisation of existing soil.
