Steep terrain, exposed coastal conditions, and the complexities of building within a sensitive natural environment required thoughtful structural solutions. Drawing on extensive experience delivering residential projects across Waiheke Island, DHC's Residential Team worked closely with Elmore Booth Architects to develop a design that responded to the constraints of the site while supporting the architectural vision.

A defining feature of the home is the striking 3.5m cantilevered deck, extending into the native bush and creating an immersive connection to the surrounding landscape. Positioned among the treetops with sweeping views across the Hauraki Gulf, the deck exemplifies the integration of engineering, architecture, and environment. The result is a home that embraces its remarkable setting while demonstrating what can be achieved on a challenging site through experience, collaboration, and thoughtful design.
